Main Information

We are happy to announce that the 2K1BC Workshop has attracted great interest among the Cosmological Community!
At the pre-registration deadline (April 2nd) we received such a large number of Contributors (talks & posters) that the LOC was forced to extend the 2K1BC Workshop: one more day has been added!
This means that the "Experimental Cosmology at millimetre wavelengths" Workshop will be held from Monday July 9th until Friday 13th, 2001 in Breuil-Cervinia (AO - Valle d'Aosta) Italy.

No more talk contributions can be considered; a few poster presentations are still available!

 Registration
======================

The registration at 2K1BC is 150 EURO (around 150 USD) inclusive of attendance kit, coffee breaks and a copy of proceedings. Everyone who has completed the pre-registration form by fax or by form on line, should pay the fee before May 15th by bank transfer.
For registrations after this date, the fee amounts to 200 EUROs (around 200 USD).

During 2K1BC it will be possible to register at the Registration On Site (ROS) desk; it is open from 16:00 until 18:00 on Sunday July 8th and from 8:00 - 9:00 on Monday July 9th at the Hotel EUROPA. Please register and pay the fee there when you will be given the Attendance Kit. Remember to fill in the form with your (and accompanying persons if any) participation in any events outwith the programme.
Note that only payment by cash is possible if you register on site! No credit cards or checks can be accepted! In the town two banks with cash dispensers are available. Usually in all the hotels, restaurants and shops it is possible to pay by credit card.
The ROS desk should be considered the Workshop Meeting point: exchange of messages between participants, info-point, planning of fun events for accompanying persons...

 Proceedings
======================

All the contributions at the 2K1BC Workshop will be published in a Proceedings booklet by the American Institute of Physics (AIP). The Contributors are invited to observe the deadline for submitting their camera ready manuscripts: September 15th. We plan, in agreement with AIP, to diffuse the Proceedings no later than January 2K2!
Contributions presented as Posters will also be published in the Proceedings booklet.
Proceedings will be published in a 8.5 X 11 inch volume single column format. At the Workshop, in the attendance kit the Contributors will find a copy of the Instruction booklet for the preparation of Camera Ready Manuscripts. Each paper must be submitted together with a signed Transfer of Copyright Agreement Form. A copy of the Proceedings will be submitted to each registered participant; please check your postal address with the 2K1BC Secretary. A complete list of Participants is available at the ROS desk.

Programme
======================

Indicative talk time
Invited talks:         30 minutes, with  5 minutes discussion.
Contributed talks:  10-20 minutes, with  5 minutes discussion.

All the Workshop talks will be held at the Cinema des Guides (Via Carrel). For the presentation each speaker (as requested) will have at their disposal: a slide projector, an overhead projector or a PC connection. For slides and PC presentation the speaker has to contact the staff a day before the talk. The official language of the Workshop is English.
The coffee breaks will be served at the Hostellerie des Guides, just above the Cinema; remember to wear the Workshop badge at all times!

 Poster Session
======================

The Poster Session will be held at the Hotel EUROPA close to the Registration On Site (ROS) desk.
It can be visited throughout the Workshop but a time dedicated for Poster reading and discussion is reserved in the Programme.
Each Poster Contributor has a 100x100 cm panel available. During the ROS time [16:00 - 18:00 on Sunday July 8th and 8:00 - 9:00 on Monday July 9th] it is suggested to put up the posters. The posters should be removed on Friday evening. Ask at the ROS desk for your reserved panel.
Contributions presented as Posters will also be published in the Proceedings booklet.

 Accommodation
======================

Breuil-Cervinia is in a wonderful position at the bottom of the Matterhorn Mountain (Monte Cervino) at 2050 m a.s.l. and ensures a warm welcome to foreigners with its long tourist experience. Several hotels are available with special prices for 2K1BC Workshop participants. Please check your hotel preferences on the Web page and communicate them by mail to the Workshop Secretary:

For international participants we suggest arriving at Malpensa Airport in Milan because shuttles to and from Breuil-Cervinia for the 2K1BC participants are planned during the weekends before and after the Workshop: 7-8 and 14-15 of July. The 2K1BC Secretary has to be informed about your time of arrival in order to organise the transfers.

 Climate
======================

During the summer in Breuil-Cervinia the average temperature is 18 degrees but be prepared you can experience the four seasons in one day!. Warm clothes are suggested for any convenience and in any case for the Excursion up to Plateau Rosa’ (3480 m a.s.l.).

 Social Events
======================

Several extra-Workshop events will be organised by the LOC. All the participants and their accompanying persons are welcome to participate in all of them! At the Registration On Site, please fill in your interest to the preferred possibilities: i.e. Welcome Cocktails, Social Dinner, Musical night, 2K1BC Pint, Testa Grigia Excursion (3480 m a.s.l.).
A limited amount has to be asked for few of the events and it will be added to the fee payment.

 Accompanying Persons Information
==========================

Fun events will be planned for accompanying persons. Certain costs will apply. At the Registration On Site, please fill in your interest to the preferred possibilities.
Some activities need a minimum of participants. If you would like more information on the events then send an e-mail to the Workshop Secretary.
All these activities will be organised by the Consorzio per lo Sviluppo Turistico del Cervino.
